OMU Faculty of Veterinary Dean Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tütüncü, in his speech at the congress held by OMU Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Department of Veterinary Surgery in a hotel in the city, said that their faculties ranked 4th among 31 veterinary faculties in Turkey this year, after Istanbul, Ankara and Bursa, in terms of university preference.
Pointing out that their faculties were one of the two faculties that operated without closing during the Kovid-19 epidemic, Tütüncü said, “Especially the animal hospital has been one of our building blocks serving in this process. Today, in some countries, the veterinary surgery department; anesthesia, radiology, orthopedics, or surgery intensive. It is divided into sub-disciplines such as care. Therefore, I think that the congress will provide an opportunity to discuss this issue as well. I hope that it will be beneficial to the scientists, especially our clinician colleagues and young academics who participate in our congress on a national and international basis.” he said.
OMU Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Department of Veterinary Surgery Faculty Member and congress president Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özak said that there will be 129 papers, 38 of which will be oral and 91 of which will be poster presentations.
Stating that the congress planned to be held in 2020 was postponed due to the Kovid-19 outbreak, Özak said, “We have 7 academicians from England, Sweden, Bulgaria and the Netherlands. will make a significant contribution.” said.
Samsun-Sinop Chamber of Veterinarians President Assoc. Dr. Habib Muruz, on the other hand, stated that veterinary surgery congresses are one of the most rooted events in Turkey, and said, “I hope that the congress will be a great opportunity for private veterinarians to update themselves. The congress will also be a very powerful experience for new researchers.” used the phrase.
In the congress, where presentations were made in the fields of pet, farm animals, equine, exotic and wildlife surgery, products and materials related to veterinary surgery were also exhibited at the stands opened by the participating stakeholders.
